Only a few companies are allowed to buy and resell Alcatraz tickets. They are screened and qualified (or disqualified) by Alcatraz Cruises. To be an Authorized Reseller, the screening is lengthy and rigorous. These are some of the conditions to be met:
1- Having a real store front
2- Having a business license
3- Having a Federal Tax ID number
4- Having a business insurance
5- Being bonded with travel insurance
6- Selling tickets in a promotional package
7- Having a strong marketing presence in San Francisco
